Your CEO Vision Starts Now

In Part 1 of the Your Best Year Yet series, we walked through how to reflect on the past year using the CEO Traffic Light Dashboard — identifying what’s working, what’s not, and where your focus should go next. In this post, we’re shifting gears into future-focused planning. 

You’ll set an income goal, map out what to sell, and create a clear, strategic plan to ensure you achieve it in the year ahead. A plan that’s grounded in evidence, aligned with your goals, and designed to actually get you where you want to go.

 

Step 1: Future You — One Year From Now

Close your eyes and picture this: it’s December 31st, 2026. You’re sitting down with a cup of tea (or a glass of bubbles), reflecting on the year.

What do you want to be celebrating?

  • What wins will make you feel proud?
  • What has shifted in your business — or your life?
  • What goals did you finally achieve?

Take a moment to jot those down.

Your answers might include hitting a new income level, launching a signature programme, creating more space in your week, or finally hiring someone to support you.

Whatever it is — this is your personal definition of success.

And now we’re going to reverse-engineer it.

 

Step 2: What Might Get in the Way?

Before we build your 2026 plan, we need to anticipate the roadblocks.

Because obstacles aren’t a sign you’re not cut out for this — they’re just part of the journey. And by naming them now, you can plan around them.

Ask yourself:

  • What challenges do I already know might come up?
  • Are there skills or knowledge gaps I need to fill?
  • Do I need support — a VA, a designer, a coach?
  • What systems or tools would make things easier?
  • Who do I need to learn from, collaborate with, or hire?

Make a quick list.

This gives you a head start on building the support structures your goals will require.

 

Step 3: Set Your Income Target

Let’s bring this vision down to numbers.

How much revenue do you want to generate in 2026?

Write down the total. It can be a round number or broken down month-by-month if you work seasonally (hello, school holidays!)

Now, reverse-engineer your revenue goal by mapping out what you’ll sell to get there.

For example:

  • Goal: £60,000
  • Main offer: Programme at £1,000
  • You’ll need 60 sales total = 5 clients/month

You can repeat this process for all of your offers — courses, 1:1 packages, memberships, templates, whatever you sell — and calculate how many sales you’ll need per month to hit your target.

This step turns your intentions into a plan.

 

Step 4: Choose Your Sales Strategy

Now that you know what you’re selling and how many sales you need, the next question is: How are you going to sell it?

Let’s look at your conversion mechanisms. These are the actions that turn potential clients into paying ones.

Examples include:

  • Discovery calls
  • Webinars or masterclasses
  • Email campaigns
  • Website pages
  • Automated funnels

Let’s say you rely on discovery calls and your conversion rate is 50%.

To get 6 clients per month → you need 12 booked calls each month.

Or maybe you convert through live workshops:

  • How many people register?
  • What % attend?
  • What % of attendees typically buy?

If you don’t know your numbers yet, make 2026 the year you start tracking them.

This is how you stop guessing — and start growing with strategy.

 

Step 5: Do You Have Enough Traffic?

Even the most brilliant offer won’t sell if it’s not getting in front of enough of the right people.

So ask yourself:

Do I have enough qualified people in my audience to fuel my sales?

Let’s say you convert through your consultation page, which typically turns 2% of visitors into clients.

You need 6 clients a month → you need 300 visitors a month to that page.

But you’re only getting 75?

That’s a visibility gap — and this is where your traffic strategy comes in.

You might want to:

  • Create a consistent content plan for your primary platform
  • Focus on SEO and write weekly blog posts
  • Guest on podcasts or collaborate with aligned colleagues
  • Promote lead magnets more consistently to grow your email list
  • Invest in ads or partnerships that bring in qualified leads

The goal isn’t just more traffic — it’s the right traffic.

And now that you know what you’re selling, how you’re selling it, and how much traffic you need — you can start making decisions that support your income goals with confidence.

 

Final Thoughts

I know that this can feel like a lot. Especially as we don't get much in the way of marketing education at University

We just looked at your vision, your revenue targets, your sales strategy, your traffic, and your numbers.

And for many of you, this might be the first time you’ve thought about your business in this way.

So if your brain feels full right now - that’s totally okay.

You’re doing the work most people avoid.

You’ve moved from intentions to having a tangible strategy. You’ve laid the groundwork for a year ahead that’s aligned, focused, and profitable.

So take a breath.

Celebrate the fact that you’re stepping into your CEO role.

Because this is what separates those who build sustainable, freedom-filled businesses… from the ones who stay stuck on the hamster wheel.
